The following new functionality is available on COMET effective December 5, 2011:
BROADCAST VIA QUICK MESSAGE CENTER
Clients originating transactions on COMET can now broadcast messages through the COMET Quick Message Center to all deal recipients. COMET’S Quick Message functionality allows users to send and receive messages related to specific transactions with “IM like” speed and have all related messages captured within the system, providing a complete and consolidated audit trail for every transaction.
The Quick Message Center is available for active offers only and is located at the bottom of your COMET Transaction Client. You can originate a quick message by right mouse clicking on a transaction in your Inbox, from the detailed offer view, or replying directly from the Quick Message Center. The Quick Message Center will pop up within COMET when a message is present. The recipient will also receive an email notification to alert them of the new message in COMET.
DEAL CLOSE NOTIFICATIONS
Originators now have the ability to email a message to all responding counterparties, with a carbon copy to the originator, to let respondents know when a deal has closed. The deal originator can invoke a standardized message from a COMET offer message that identifies the originator and deal description along with a message that indicates that the deal has been closed by the originator and thanks the respondent for their participation.
The system will email this message to responding counterparties only and maintain a history record as part of the audit trail. Additional enhancements to the deal close notification process are planned for upcoming releases to provide greater flexibility. Please note that originators can also use the new Quick Message broadcast function at the close of a transaction to notify all counterparties, not just respondents, when a transaction has closed.
